A Family Business With Traditional Values
KP traces its roots back five generation. In 1892, a young herb trader named Tsai Liang Hai landed in a southern Taiwanese village. Liang hai set up a small herb shop committed to providing the highest quality of herbs to improve health of the villagers. He impressed villagers with his sincere dedication to the craft of fine herbs and as a result his reputation as an expert of herbs steadily grew.

He passed his knowledge on to his descendants and the great grandsons of Tsai Liang hai, a group of six brothers, who carried on this tradition. These six brothers grew up immersed in the practice of Chinese herbs, inhaling the distinctive sweet aromas of Chinese herbs and growing up with a sincere respect for their intricate preparation process.

These six brothers brought the spirit of the shop into the next generation by continuing an unwavering focus on high quality and by using breakthroughs in technology to achieve a better extraction. They extended the reach of their great grandfather's tradition by founding KP.

After 40 years of steady growth, KP believes we have reached a turning point in the growth of Chinese herbs. In 2008, KP completed the world's most advanced herbal processing facility in a new venture named Biotanico.

As KP and Biotanico are passed to a new generation, KP is committed to spreading the traditions of Chinese herbs through education, innovation and most importantly, insistence on the high herbal quality standards on which KP was founded.
